Performing site analyses that include the assessment of current plants, soil conditions, lighting, the view, and architecture style of the property for the purpose of bidding, scheduling and ordering goods for the job. These drawings need to be very detailed, down to the window and door placement on the buildings. Planning the finished product, tying in new features with current ones, by sketching it to scale. Setting meetings with prospective clients to determine scope of services desired. Areas may include personal lawns, parks, walkways, and more. Using creativity and the beauty of nature to create a harmonious, aesthetically pleasing and functional area. A Landscape Designer, though responsible for many of the same aspects of a project that a Landscape Architect is, will usually work on smaller projects. Please keep in mind that the tasks you will be responsible for as a Landscape Designer will depend upon your level of expertise and position in a firm. The ideal candidate will not only need to be highly creative, but also be green thumb that has a knack for keeping records and communicating well with others. The Landscape Designer needs to have the ability to assess a site's potential to meet the client's specifications as well. The Landscape Designer works to provide innovative and aesthetically pleasing environments for people to enjoy, while ensuring that changes to the natural environment are appropriate, sensitive and sustainable. The work of the Landscape Designer is to make places look beautiful by planning, designing and managing open spaces including both natural and built environments. At their kitchen table, they sketched out their first designs, and the future of UNStudio. This time 30 years ago, UNStudio was just a pen, a drawing board, and an idea in two young minds: Ben van Berkel, a lecturer at TU Delft, and Caroline Bos, an art historian and architectural journalist.
